Wag the Dog

***

Why does a dog wag its tail?

Because a dog is smarter than its tail.

If the tail were smarter, the tail would wag the dog.

Imagine a movie with two best people who can seriously do some comedy, packed in a frame which is biggest mockery in this world, add some current spicy events to it and result is surely a smoking curry.

Here i m talking about Dustin Hoffman and Robert DeNiro, electing a person to represent most powerful country, elements of war and the end result is wag the dog.

A nice movie revolving around Presidential election basically just 11 days before it when the current president is running for the post again and is accused with a sex scandal. Now only a situation like war can divert people away from it. So what to do ?? Create a war .. as simple as it is. DeNiro is assigned to make sure that things go accordingly and Hoffman is the producer who can make it posssible and indeed its made but suddenly the war is over so now something else need to come up. The ‘war makers’ forgot to have some war hero so a hero with a name rhyming word ‘shoe’ is identified and campaingned as “an old shoe” who is a captive to Albanian captors and asking his mother to have courage in form of morse code on his shirt !! Now he has to come back home … here comes the new trouble … he is dead on the way home …. dead ?? how ??? Dont ask me anymore … watch the movie and know urself 🙂

DeNiro and Hoffman are excellent as usual … the fun element keeps the movie at pace. DeNiro’s regular Blah Blah is sometimes little stereotype and seems too articficial but its accepatble to some level. A nice mocery to ironic situation of todays world, how masses are fooled by goofed up things. The situation when the war scenes are beeing ‘produced’and the president want a white kitten in hands of refugee is too stupid and could have been really avoided. A nice timepass if u looking for some fun movie.
